AquaSafeStraw compared to Clean Sip

Introduction

It often very hard to work out which filtration of purification product you should choose.  This is intended to help you the consumer to understand the difference between the AquaSafeStraw and the Clean Sip.

Clean Sip, www.cleansip.com or www.cleansip2000.com  sell a portable electrostatic and filtration al based water filtration and purification devices.

The AquaSafeStraw, www.aquasafestraw.com  that has been specifically designed for travelling, hiking and disaster situations.  The only product that is safe for all to use, irrespective of health conditions, known and unknown, due to its chemical free filtration system.

For the purpose of comparison, we are looking at AquaSafeStraw against Clean Sip.

Filtration Methods

The Clean Sip product uses three components to filter the water.  The first and last bits are a micro filter, the second being a copper and zinc media that ionically changes molecules into insoluble salts.  This process is called Electro Chemical Oxidation Reduction.  There is no information on the effectiveness of this device.  It works like a battery where the water is the conductor. Once the water is present the electrical charges passes through the water killing any bacteria and viruses.   The third part of the filer is an activated charcoal filter.  There is no indication when the Electro Chemical Oxidation Reduction has fully discharged, like a battery.

The AquaSafeStraw uses a polyethylene membrane that filters down to 0.2 micron, exceeding the US CDC recommendation of 1 micron to effectively remove Giardia and Cryptosporidium. The AquaSafeStraw removes 99.9999% of bacteria

Ease of Use

Clean Sip and the AquaSafeStraw are very simple, easy and self evident products to use.
Clean Sip keeps passing water once the electro Chemical Oxidation has fully discharged allowing bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium to easily pass through the straw.
The AquaSafeStraw uses a membrane technology that filter out all (99.9999%) bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Water WILL NOT pass through the AquaSafeStraw when no longer effective.

Speed to access of water

The AquaSafeStraw and Clean Sip are immediately ready to use.

Bacteria and Virus removal properties

Clean Sip does not state the effectiveness of removal of bacteria, Giardia or Cryptosporidium.  Are you willing to take a chance?

The AquaSafeStraw filters out all Bacteria as well as Cryptosporidium and Giardia above to 0.2 microns exceeding the America’s Centre of Disease Control and prevention (www.cdc.gov) recommendation of filters to a minimum of 1 micron.  The AquaSafeStraw exceed this by a factor of 5.   Under strict international standard laboratory testing to EPA and CDC levels of testing, the AquaSafeStraw removed 99.9999% of bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

AquaSafeCorp is about to release two new products, AquaSafeBottle and  AquaSafeStraw+, that filters down to 0.01 micron below the size of viruses.

Reliability and state of mind

Both the Clean Sip and AquaSafeStraw have past extensive testing to verify their specification when the product is in prime condition.

The two major differences between the products;

1.   AquaSafeStraw stops working once the filter is congested. Water will still flow through Clean Sip when the Electro Chemical Oxidation Reduction process is in-effective to remove bacteria, what are you drinking?

2.   Clean Sip does not provide any stated guarantees for the removal of bacteria whereas AquaSafeStraw guarantees removes 99.99999%.

Cost per gallon/litre

Clean Sip is readily available to the public for single unit purchase, of $12.95 for 910 litres equating to 1.4 cents per litre.  AquaSafeStraw cost $34.95 for 500 litres (132 gallons) per unit working out to be 7 cents a litre or 26.5 cents per gallon.

Portability

AquaSafeStraw is light weight (24g), 21cm long unit, 1.8cm diameter. The product can fit in your pocket.  The size Clean Sip product is not specified on there web site though it looks like to be similiar in size to the AquaSafeStraw.

How can AquaSafeStraw be so cost effective and be an effective water filtration system?

How does AquaSafeStraw be technologically advanced and be so price competitive?

AquaSafeCorp have taken state of the art materials and technologies, along with advanced manufacturing techniques (patented) to produce a cost effective advanced product.

Thursday, October 08, 2009

ON a recent travel tour to the US, an elderly couple travelled from the west coast to ending in New York on the West Coast.  It lasted for 4 ½ weeks.  They had an exceptional time.  What made it that much better, they didn’t get sick once unlike many of the older pensioners on the trip.  Most had some form of gastro for several days.  They put it down to use the Aqua Safe Bottle+.  The AquaSafeBottle takes out not only bacteria to 99.9999% it also takes out protozoa’s to 99.9999% and viruses to 99.99%. Read More...
